Lolland-Falster is set to be connected to the Danish gas grid via a new gas pipeline, fulfilling a long-held wish for the two islands. The pipeline is a vital investment that will help future-proof important production jobs in the area. To ensure the security of the valuable materials and equipment involved in the project, we are working together with Upfront Security. "We are working closely together in this project to both do a better job," says Upfront CEO Søren Winckler.
"Seven camera systems of Kooi are positioned at all sites where the new gas stations will be. More systems are likely to come. They protect precious equipment and tools. Theft of it means costly delay of the project. If one of these Units For Observation (UFO) sounds the alarm, our security guards go at it straight away to check it out. It works perfectly!" says Winckler. The potential production of biogas on Lolland-Falster will exceed the anticipated demand for biogas eight months a year. Therefore, it will be necessary to connect Lolland-Falster to the existing gas grid on Zealand via a gas pipeline. The work is now in full swing.
This is the first time that Kooi and Upfront Security have worked together, but it won't be the last. "Upfront security is an important partner for us," says our project manager, Morten Dissing. "These projects are far away from the big cities, where demand for guards is more common. Therefore we specifically look for local companies who are specialists in the area and partner up with them." Winckler adds, "We enjoy our cooperation. Kooi is a relatively new company in Denmark. We are working closely together in this project to both do a better job."
The Green Gas Lolland Falster project (GGLF) is a godsend for the region. For years, larger industries on the islands have been asking for more environmentally friendly energy supply solutions. The advantages of the project are manifold, as it represents a green investment in energy infrastructure that will maintain and create important production jobs in rural areas. Additionally, it will ensure large reductions in CO2 emissions from local production industries and open up new opportunities for the expansion of climate-friendly biogas.
So far, there have been no incidents. "This project in the southern part of Zealand is one of the many good examples of how flexible Kooi's system and organisation are. The cameras will be moved many times a week, and in good cooperation with our alarm enter, they make sure that all the machines are protected so no intruders will postpone the project," says Dissing. Winckler sees a bright future ahead in terms of cooperation: "Working together is good for both of us. We have knowledge of the Danish market, and Kooi has knowledge of the technology we can use. Our sales department is already selling the Kooi camera systems as well. We would certainly recommend Kooi to other companies."
