Kooi shifts gears to the UK and Ireland. New sales manager Jelle van Tol will navigate the growing demand for mobile camera surveillance at wind and solar parks. “There’s quite some competition in the market, but that only keeps us sharp,” says Jelle confidently.
Before being recruited by Kooi, Jelle was a recruiter himself. “I’ve been in sales for five years at a recruitment agency hiring people in cybersecurity. It was called Breinstein.”
From recruiting digital talent to customers in the wind and solar industry, Jelle's task is essentially the same: excite people with a good story. Jelle says, “The Bottom line is that we have everything in-house: production, sales, project management, and Alarm Center. What’s unique about us is the dedicated project manager for every customer, the swift response time of 9 seconds after an alarm, and our fixed prices.”
Jelle will now focus on the renewables sector in Ireland and the UK, protecting construction sites from theft and vandalism and preventing costly delays for customers with the Unit For Observation (UFO). “I see that after Brexit, the UK had a hard time. But the country stood up and adapted to the new situation. We see the market for wind and solar is now expanding. This gives us new opportunities to explore the world of renewables further and present our answer to the increasing thefts and vandalism at construction sites.”
Every customer gets access to the 24/7 Kooi app, enabling them to adjust daily working times and follow project developments via live view. Sustainability is also an important topic at Kooi. The Solar Power Unit supports the UFO for power supply in remote areas. It can be filled with HVO100 diesel. “And don’t forget our UFO controller, the heart of our system that allows our support engineers to solve 90% of the problems remotely,” adds Jelle. “This saves us many miles in transportation.”
According to the latest surveys, extreme winter storms combining strong winds and heavy rainfall over the UK and Ireland will increase in the coming years due to climate change. The amount of daily sun hours remains the same: four hours. So both economically and meteorologically, the outlook seems bright for Jelle. “But we know we’re not the only mobile temporary camera surveillance experts. There’s quite some competition, so that keeps us sharp. We start from our own strengths.”
Jelle is eager to lead Kooi's expansion into the UK and Ireland, leveraging their in-house expertise to meet the growing demand for renewable energy surveillance. Contact Jelle van Tol today for more information about how Kooi can protect your renewable energy sites.
